Happy New Year everyone! We made it to 2018! When is a better time to set new goals or challenges for yourself? I've noted my three resolutions for the year 2018 below. Enjoy!

1. Find a mentor.

I've been considering finding a mentor for a month or two now. Preferably in the same field of work (in my case, interiors /architecture). I think it will be great for personal and career development. I'll create a dedicated post on that once I find one.

2. Learn a new language.

The more languages you learn, the better the travel experience will be. In fact when I look back at my Senegal journey I really wish I made a dual effort to learn both the local language 'Wolof' alongside their colonial language 'French'. I did try but in hindsight I think I could have made more of an effort. As Nelson Mandela once said "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."

3. Start a pescatarian diet.

I originally said I would start a vegetarian diet for the first four months of the new year in order to diagnose what food triggers my re-occurring eczema patches. I then thought I cannot just go cold turkey overnight and forget my life of meat!? Therefore I believe a pescatarian diet (eating fish and seafood) would be more realistic to achieve before even considering a vegetarian diet.
